Color List

I really want to Label the Color List Names and add new colors.  This needs to be an option in at least Story and Task.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately Rally's list of colors is constant. You can find this list along with the Hex code that matches each color in this document. There isn't a way to extend this list at this time. Your need is certainly valid, but it will need to be an enhancement request. You can find the details on the process of submitting an enhancement request in this document.

The colour palette is the specific way that is now to address accessibility concerns, as we needed to focus on colours that don't introduce accessibility issues.  As was said above, please submit an enhancement request so that we can consider any changes to the color set (if you haven't already done so).

This request has been made many times over the years, both before and after Broadcom took over the product and has been given lip service and then ignored. Orignally, someone must have had a limited use case in mind for these colors and created a color model that is  now decades behind the times. Giving nine colors, with three colors that are just different shadings (blue and dark blue, orange and burnt orange, grey and no entry) is insane.  Yes you can edit hex values in Excel and upload to Rally and have it accurately display that color in Rally, but there's nothing you can do from that point to change it in Rally to anything but the preset colors. It's so terribly limiting.  In a world where every application or webpage that deals with colors gives you a palette to choose from, why the Rally team can't put any effort after so many years into updating this UI/UX aspect is beyond me.
