I found a work-around for displaying the threads:
    https://community.broadcom.com/enterprisesoftware/browse/allrecentposts
This includes threads from other communities but it's at least better than nothing.

This page also semi-broken because it includes threads from communities to which I don't belong even if Posts in my communities is selected.

The AWA Community Home page was also briefly broken, but it appears to be working again. One can view recent threads and open new threads there.

The main list of AWA threads is still broken.

It's now the third day since I reported the problem, and the list of threads in the AWA forum is still broken.

It's still half-broken. The control to set the number of threads displayed per page doesn't work, and neither do the controls to go to the next page or a specific page.

@Michael A. Lowry  I escalated the ticket yesterday based on the lack of QA last time.   Checking on the ticket and adding new error.  ~jm

@Michael A. Lowry - can you either clear cache or try incognito.   The vendor ask for additional testing and I was able to post straight away >>> https://community.broadcom.com/enterprisesoftware/discussion/test-thread-for-vendor from the threads page  and  https://community.broadcom.com/enterprisesoftware/communities/communityhomeblogs?CommunityKey=2e1b01c9-f310-4635-829f-aead2f6587c4  from the home page.

    Thanks

Thanks -  I tested and the vendor has tested with no joy on duplicating the error.  Escalating the case.  ~jm

@Michael A. Lowry -  they found that there were a few forum key issues causing the issue with showing threads and different filters on the page.  I tested pagination, showing 10,20, etc. threads and filters, and it is all working.

To your question on cleaning up legacy JIVE code - that is a tough one since Jive embeds CSS and scripts everywhere, making migrations nightmares.   When we moved over the CA content, we mapped as many scenarios of JIVE code to convert.   I don't see another full community-wide clean-up effort on the horizon unless we bring in another JIVE Community.    ~jm

The problem appears to be triggered by angle brackets in the subject. This is the subject that triggered the problem:

Setting <PARAMETERS> on tasks started from task pre- and post-conditions

@Michael A. Lowry  -  I have another ticket opened with the vendor regarding the subject link character limit.  Let me see if they can look at special characters while they are under the hood.   thx  ~jm

While they're at it, maybe they can fix all of the characters in subjects replaced with HTML entities during the Jive-to-HL migration. It looks bad.

@Michael A. Lowry -  I can't promise anything but this might be possible within the next six months during a DB cleanup.    The old JIVE code is embedded everywhere in file attachments,  code snippets, and converted characters.    I can tell you I've been focusing on using more of the editor features in tinymce.com to allow or code to be posted unchanged and color coated.   It's available, the vendor would need approve to implement it for all customers.   This would fix problems going forward.    ~jm
