  • 1.  KB Article not clear on install location

I am sorry if I posted to the incorrect group, i was not able to find a specific VDDK group.

My question is in the KB sent to me, on Line 2- install it is not clear if these get installed on the ESXi hosts or all the VMs themselves.

Has anyone done this KB before or who can clarify the install location of the zip file?

Forget about asking tech support, I searched for an hour to locate the correct support, and it was just a rabbit hole.

    Thanks in Advance

These steps that have tu execute in virtual machine that you use to test the VDDK (VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit)

    I hope this help you.

    HI Jbastida,

Right but does it get installed on all the Virtual servers or the Veeam Proxy servers, that's my question.

so today we tried a test Vm install and it failed. After reading the Note in regards to "vstor2 already installed on a backup proxy"

we decided to install it on one of the Veeam proxy agents. which also failed. We followed the KB as it's outlined and it failed.

VMWare support is useless, they tell me to call my sales rep since it's a VDDk issue. But this is affecting all the Veeam backups and nothing is backing up. now my entire site is down.

    I attached the screenshot

I am now working with Veeam and the provider to look into this issue.
