VCenter Upgrade

Aug 16, 2018 05:59 AM

Hi Guys,

I am planning to upgrade my VCenter which is running on VC 5..5 Update 2 and ESXi host is running on 5.5 Update 3. I am seeking your advice to know if I can upgrade directly from VC 5.5 U2 (2001466) to 6.5 U2 and ESXi 5.5.U3 (3116895) to 6.5 U2? All components of VC including SSO installed on the same windows server.

I was looking into the following link but to avoid any doubts, post the question here.

Your help will be appreciated.

Regards

Naveed

Adding to GayathriS views, this is your best chance to move away from Windows vCenter and migrate to an vCenter appliance. It will soon be deprecated Farewell, vCenter Server for Windows - VMware vSphere Blog. Using the migration assistant tool, one can easily migrate from Windows vCenter to vCenter Appliance -
