VMware Workstation Pro 25H2 + Fedora 43 Laptop + External Monitor = Freeze

Hi,

I have a standard Fedora 43 laptop hooked up to an external monitor. Everything works fine when the VMware window is viewed on my laptop's built in screen, but the UI becomes unresponsive shortly after moving the VMware window to my external monitor. The guest VMs are unresponsive and parts of the VMware UI are unresponsive as well (tabs). I can still close the VMware window and it still shows the pop up asking me if I want to suspend or poweroff the guest VMs. Even if I re-open the VMware window on my laptop's screen, things remain unresponsive. My only workaround is a full restart at the moment.

Is this a known issue? Thanks.

EDIT: My laptop is a Thinkpad P14s Gen 4 AMD.

What is the laptop hardware?

My laptop is a Thinkpad P14s Gen 4 AMD.

It's connected to an external 144hz monitor using HDMI.

From kernel logs:

VMware Workstation): Frame has assigned frame counter but no frame drawn time

Another workaround I found is to just disconnect the external monitor before relaunching VMware.
