 Migrating to VCF9.0.2

I'd appreciate if someone could help clarify the below questions.

  1. When adding an existing vSphere 8 Update3 + w/NSX 4.2.1 dFW only environment into a VCF9.0.2 as a workload domain:
    - Will existing iSCSI storage become the principal storage in that domain?
    - Will NSX4 be upgraded to NSX9 and I don't need to deploy NSX networking (keep dFW/vDefend only)?
  2. When deploying VCF9.0.2 directly into an existing  vSphere 8 update 3 + w/NSX 4.2 dFW only environment in a Consolidated mode (Mgmt + WL domains)
    - I assume it will require vSAN/NFS/FC as principal storage for management domain?
    - Can I keep using iSCSI for the WL domain's VMs?
    - Will it upgrade to NSX9 and enable NSX networking?

Hello @dimka2000

Please find the below article from VMware which describes about converging part

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/vcf/vcf-9-0-and-later/9-0/deployment/converging-your-existing-vsphere-infrastructure-to-a-vcf-or-vvf-platform-/supported-scenarios-to-converge-to-vcf/converge-your-existing-vcenter-instance-and-esx-hosts.html

Please take support from Broadcom as well to get you on board & read every sub link in above mentioned articles

In above article, it is mentioned about your NSX query mentioning as below in the article

"If you are converging to VCF 9.0.1 or 9.0.2 and your vCenter instance is version 8.0 Update 3 or later and has an existing NSX registration with version 4.2.1 or later, proceed without upgrading."
