Environment: Fusion 13.5.2, Mac mini M1, macOS Sonoma 14.5
I'm finding that whenever I attempt to connect to a guest Linux VM via SSH by right-clicking on the VM name in the Virtual Machine Library and selecting "Connect to SSH...", the entire Fusion UI crashes. The GUI seems to be left in a strange state - no recognition that the VM is still running, and lots of functionality is not usable. The only way that I've been able to regain proper operation is to shut down the running VM (either by SSH'ing into it if I remembered its IP address, or killing the vmware-vmx process.
This is consistently reproducible with any Linux VM I have configured in Fusion (that's about a dozen of them). This has worked in the past, although I can't say for sure what changed as I haven't used that feature in a while. I don't know if this started with the Fusion upgrade or the macOS upgrade.
And yes, SSH is configured and working working properly in the VM. I can manually ssh into the VM from a shell.
The other thing I noticed is that the "Configure SSH..." menu is grayed out.
Anyone else seeing this?
Hi @Technogeezer
We are seeing the same issue on Sonoma x86 as well. But the issue doesn't exist on Ventura x86.
We have logged a bug for the same.
Thanks
