I am having trouble and graphical issues with the VM cursor that is causing artifacting+duplication when it changes image. I have tried changing the vmx files to use DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan and without them. Disabling 3D acceleration makes the cursor visible only on the top-left corner of the screen. I have tried on 3 different VMs, such as Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10. All have been allocated 2GB VRAM and were tried with different number of cores. All the same result. However, all other graphics in the VMs work as intended.

The cursor issues only occur when the pixels are 1:1, so if stretched mode is disabled or if guest resolution matches my host on fullscreen, they happen.

Forgot to mention, I am using Windows 11 25H2. Hyper-V, core isolation, VBS are disabled. Using NVIDIA RTX 4060 with Intel i9-12900KF, if that helps.

Ditto.   Except I have Hyper-V disabled - Workstation is the hypervisor.  Happens occasionally when starting a guest.   No rhyme or reason as far as I can see except that it might be USB related.   Switching focus among guests or overlaying the artifact/mouse point makes it go away.

    How to overlay?

For my situation I just drag another open window in the guest over the artifact and it goes away.  Or I just switch guests back and forth in the VMWare GUI guest manager list.

Hmm.   I just configured an XFCE guest with LIGHTDM and in settings / accessibility / keyboard I turned on 'Bounce Keys'.   This appears to have reduced and/or limited the occurrence of this issue on that guest.  Which may mean it is an interrupt issue.

Can you try setting `mks.noHostCursor=TRUE` in your vmx file and see if that helps the issue.

I feel that it made things just slightly better, but barely
