I converted a windows 7 enterprise from p2v and it has no nic. Tried adjusting the .vmx file to include the "e1000" driver with no luck. Can someone help? Thanks.

Note: Discussion successfully moved from VMware ESXi™ 4 to Converter

What does Device Manager show? Any unknown devices?

What was the target for the P2V's system? ESXi, VMware Workstation, ...?

In case of ESXi you need to reload the VM after editing the .vmx file. In Hosted products like VMware Workstation, close the VM's tab or VMware Workstation at all before you edit the .vmx file to ensure it gets re-read.

Did you install VMware Tools after your p2v?  We found out here that after a p2v that performance was horrible with the generic driver - very high CPU load on the guest - but much better after Tools was installed and the guest updated to vmxnet3.
