    I have ESXi 5.1 and ESXi 5.5 on the same virtual environment, update manually VMware tools in a VM windows and was prompted to restart, as the vm is in production I can not do because they must request authorization has some risk if no reboot?

    No risk if not reboot, but some drivers will be activated only after reboot.
