  • 1.  What permission is needed to delete a VMDK ?

    Hi,

    I have delegated permissions to a team to manage a certain cluster on our multi cluster vCenter.

    I've given the users the permission as in the 1st screenshot and applied them to the folder where the datastores sit.

    Yet when they try to delete a file in the datastore browser they get the error in the 2nd screenshot.

    "System" does not seem to be in the list of permissions that i can then drill down to "read"

    I'm on vCenter 4.1 U2 and the hosts are 4.1 U2.

    Help !

    Figured it out, they needed read only permissions at the datacenter level.

    Not quite what the error message was saying, but i guess it gave me a hint at least :smileywink:
