  • 1.  What is the best method to move replicated hosts to new vCenter?

We have a vCenter 6.0 update 2 server running on Windows that we are wanting to migrate to a 6.0 update 3f appliance.  There is a shared platform services controller both are currently using.  There is also a replication appliance version 6.1.1.13216 Build 3849281 currently working as expected,

We are wanting to move the hosts managed by the existing vCenter server to the new version.  What is recommended for migrating the hosts with the replication appliance?  Do i just connect hosts to new server and change the replication appliance vCenter server address, or how should I proceed?  I would really like to keep the replication intact and avoid reseeding everything if possible.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

There's not going to be a way to do this. Your best bet is to upgrade your vCenter 6.0 to the vCSA on 6.5 so VMs retain their respective IDs. You can then upgrade vSphere Replication and all should continue to work.

Thank you for your response.  Unfortunately, we cannot migrate to vSCA 6.5 at the moment because our company has standardized on 6.0 across sites for the time being.  Can i use the migration tool included in 6.0 to migrate to a new instance vSCA 6.0 from the existing instance?

No, horizontal migrations (6.0 -> 6.0) across platforms are not supported with any version.
