VMware Cloud on vSphere+ collects and loads the following data:
- VMware vCenter Server metadata: This includes the vCenter Server inventory, such as the list of hosts, VMs, and datastores.
- VMware ESXi host metadata: This includes the ESXi host inventory, such as the hardware configuration and installed software.
- VMware vSphere vMotion logs: These logs contain information about vMotion operations, such as the start and end times, and the source and destination hosts.
- VMware vSphere HA logs: These logs contain information about vSphere HA events, such as failures and recoveries.
- VMware vSphere DRS logs: These logs contain information about vSphere DRS events, such as load balancing and VM migrations.
This data is collected and loaded to VMware Cloud on vSphere+ so that it can be used to provide a number of benefits, including:
- Performance monitoring: VMware Cloud on vSphere+ can use the collected data to monitor the performance of your vSphere environment. This information can be used to identify performance bottlenecks and take corrective action.
- Capacity planning: VMware Cloud on vSphere+ can use the collected data to plan for the capacity needs of your vSphere environment. This information can be used to ensure that you have enough resources to meet the demands of your workloads.
- Compliance reporting: VMware Cloud on vSphere+ can use the collected data to generate compliance reports. These reports can be used to demonstrate compliance with industry regulations.
