  • 1.  vSphere Client hangs at connecting

    Posted Aug 24, 2015 05:46 PM

    Hi,

I install vsphere client 5.1, 5.5 and 6.0 on a Windows 2012 R2 server some months ago, everything was working fine until recently, when i launch the C# client, it remains at 'Connecting...' and i don't get any error and the VpxClient.exe consumes 25% of the CPU until I kill the process, I tried to connect to 3 different vCenters, always the same behavior.

When I try to connect using the webClient, all works fine, does anyone know what may be the issue ?

    Regards.

    Hi ,

If Web client is working fine then this issue occurs if the vSphere Web Client is installed in a different directory, other than the default location.

From which version of vsphere client you are connecting to which version of your vcenter server?.. And also please check if vsphere client is communicating with vcenter server on TCP443.

I'm trying to connect to vCenter 5.5 and 6.0 appliances, I did not change anything on the vCenters and I can communicate well on port TCP443.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    I experienced similar on Win 10 x64,

    1. vSphere client hung at Connecting...
    2. CPU is 25%. The system has 4 logical cores so one core is bound.
    3. vSphere Web Client works fine.

It works again if I run the vpxclient as administrator.

    Hope it help.

    Rgds

it seems to be a performance/ capacity issue .
