Recently I faced a strange problem in my environment. My vCenter and ESXi version is 8.0.2. When I put a host in a maintenance mode I get an Email notification error from vCenter which indicates that :
[Critical] Alarm alarm.vsan.health.test.perfsvc.statsdb on Resource-pool MyvSANclutser
because vSAN Health Test 'Checks the health of the vSAN performance service statistics database object' status changed from 'green' to 'red'.

also my vSAN performance service stucks. After some investigation I realized performance service master election happens in different interval and when my master node goes down, I have the mentioned problem.
Good to mention when I go to skyline Health- Stats primary election - CMMDS Master and stats Master role belongs to one vSAN host node. Is this normal?
I assume that as a result of every election, two nodes should be observed. The primary and the secondary node (or Backup mode).
It seems backup node doesn't work correctly.
To fix this after the rvc connection I stop the vSAN Performance service and delete the old DB related files. Then recreate the DB file.
Please let me know how this election and service works?
