    I am seeing this on our vmware infstructure

    Any ideas how I can get these disks to show healthy again? the server sees them just fine but I don't seem to be able to get them back in the vsan? Could I just remove the groups from the disk and re-add?

    This happened after putting in to maintenance mode and a reboot for a 5.5u2 update.

    Just to add I noticed that the vsan has dropped 3tbytes of size which seems to much of a conindences that the three missing drives are 1 tybyte each.

    what would happen if I jsut removed them and then added them back in?

    This advice comes with no guarantee.

    If you do a vsan.resync_dashboard and shows no data to resync, then I would think it safe to remove and re-add.  It might be worth the trouble wipe them of all partitions before doing the re-add.

    Are the missing disks on a different controller than the others?

    Thank you, Zach.

    Hi,

    thank you for this, I have not used RVC before but I thought it would straight forward enough, however I get this output on the host

    > vsan.resync_dashboard 0

    Expected ClusterComputeResource/HostSystem but got RVC::NullConnection at "0"

    > vsan.resync_dashboard 1

    Expected ClusterComputeResource/HostSystem but got RbVmomi::VIM at "1"

    Any idea what this might mean?

    Thank you

    After carrying out the checks I removed the whole disk group and recreated it, this worked and the disks came back on line as healthy and the missing space was restored. I will keep an eye on things but hoping its not fixed.

    Thank you for the pointers.
