  • 1.  VSAN HCL controller driver health warning

    VSAN healthcheck is complaining about megaraid_sas driver not in HCL.  Running esxcli software vib list shows the driver is installed but apparently not in use?

    Driver in use according to healthcheck plugin

    megaraid_sas 6.603.55.00.1vmw

    Drive in HCL and currently installed in ESXi

    megaraid_sas 6.603.55.00-2vmw

    Should the driver be removed and re-installed to force ESXi to use the new driver or leave it at the current version?

    There will be no reduced functionality however health checks will not report green till driver is removed and re-installed. You may leave it there till you plan to upgrade or make infrastructure changes (such as adding new components) to your environment.
