    vROps version 6.6.1

Is it possible to configure the vROps Appliance SNMP agent for polling, so it can listen for and respond to requests from SNMP management client systems, such as GET, GETNEXT, and GETBULK requests.

I can find instructions to configure the VCSA for SNMP polling but not vROps?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks.

There's a management pack for SNMP.  As far as I know this is the only way you can have vROps poll other systems using SNMP.

    VMware Solution Exchange

I used it several years ago for Dell servers and it worked okay.  I don't know if or how wel it works in the newer versions of vROps.  The documentation on it has always been lacking in my opinion, but there's a good blog article for setting it up here.

    Hi.

Many thanks for your reply, but this is not quite what I'm after.

I would like the vROps agent to respond to 'get' requests from an SNMP management client system e.g. SolarWinds Orion. Not for vROps to poll other systems.

This is enabled by default for the VCSA - Configure the SNMP Agent for Polling

Just trying to do the same for vROps.

    Thanks.

I see, sorry for the confusion.  I'm pretty sure there isn't an SNMP agent on the vROps appliance.
