[vmware workstation pro 17.5.1] Unity doesn't work at all anymore since vmware tools 12.4.0

Hi,

even with very latest windows 11 updates applied (on desktop side), unity doesn't work since update of vmware tools to version 12.4.0

it was ok with the previous version (I do'nt remember which exact version)

physical machine is windows 11 and VM is windows 10

now, everytime I start unity,  consoel of the VM stop displaying (normal), but nothing happens after that (I mean I don't see the VM's opened application showing up in the taskbar of my workstation)

and then a few second later, the VM consoel reappear, but in a dual screen configuration..

any idea? is it a pb on the latest vmware tool version of something I need to reconfigure?

I have 2 monitor on the workstation, and if I force onyl one monitor in the VM's properties, it prevents unity to work

in the VM i've also tried to disable the second display (in "display" setting of windows), but if I try unity, it re enable the second display

Same here. Unity Mode works fine using VMware Tools 12.3.5-22544099

Steps to reproduce: Remove v12.4.0 and reinstall v12.3.5.

Thanks for the guidance, just uninstalled VMWare Tools 12.4.0 back to 12.3.5, and Unity is now working again. Is there an official way that we can inform the VMWare team about this issue?

Hint: VMware-tools-12.4.5-23787635-x86_64 still destroys unity mode.

I just double check, and can also confirm previous entry, indeed VMWare Tools 12.4.5 still does not fix the Unity Mode error for VMWare Workstation 17.5.2.

Going back to VMWare Tools 12.3.5 now.

It seems that unity mode has been removed in VMware Workstation 17.6...

I have the same problem - it is non existent in Preferences menu - I rely on this because my software takes up too much real estate on monitors - will this be fixed?

No, I don't think so.

As I mentioned above in v17.6 Unity Mode has been removed.
