Apologies if this has been asked before but having just updated to the latest tools for Fusion, I've noticed that the system tray icon is not appearing. Is this expected behaviour. If not, is there a setting that controls it's visibility, perhaps in the registry?

    Thanks

    Win11 Arm

I don't remember ever seeing a system tray icon for VMware Tools on Windows ARM like there was on Windows Intel. I chalked it up to one of the missing Tools features on Windows ARM.

I can go back and check if earlier Tools versions have the item in the system tray.

    Thanks Paul.

Don’t worry about it. I wasn’t sure if I had ever seen one either.

It’s missing by design. Not by want, but by design.

I checked the VMware Tools 13.0.1 - no system tray.

From what I remember of the latest VMware Tools versions even on Windows Intel, the system tray didn't do much other than show you the installed version of VMware Tools. Which you can find in the guest with Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

However I'm still disappointed that after almost 4 years the VMware Tools on Windows ARM is not at feature parity with its Intel counterpart.
