  • 1.  VMware Tools Status after upgrade to ESXi Update 3

    I recently tested the upgrade of one of our hosts from Update 2 to Update 3. After applying the update using Update Manager, VMs running on the host show a VMware Tools status of ToolsOK instead of the expected ToolsOutOfDate. It appears that there is indeed a new version of the tools installed with Update 3, but virtual center is not reporting the status correctly.

    Has anyone else noticed this problem?

    It's a know issue. I would recommend using a free 3rd party tool to check the version numbers:
