  • 1.  VMware Tools no longer cut and paste in and out of VM

    Posted Apr 07, 2011 11:43 AM

I used to be able to copy text inside my virutal machine that had vmware tools running and then paste to my windows client outside of vmware and now I can't. Just wondeirng if anyone has seen this before or has any idea. We have upgraded to the latest version of vSphere and since then it seems not to work.

Have you or someone else changed any of the advanced configuration options of the VM?  There are two options that specifically disable cut and paste, see below.

    isolation.tools.copy.disable         true
    isolation.tools.paste.disable        true

I jus did that and it worked but now I am trying to figure out how to do it in host profile so I don't have to change on all the hosts but thanks for the answer

You need to change this on the VM's not the hosts servers so I don't think host profiles are going to help you.
