I used to be able to copy text inside my virutal machine that had vmware tools running and then paste to my windows client outside of vmware and now I can't. Just wondeirng if anyone has seen this before or has any idea. We have upgraded to the latest version of vSphere and since then it seems not to work.
Have you or someone else changed any of the advanced configuration options of the VM? There are two options that specifically disable cut and paste, see below.
isolation.tools.copy.disable trueisolation.tools.paste.disable true
I jus did that and it worked but now I am trying to figure out how to do it in host profile so I don't have to change on all the hosts but thanks for the answer
and I changed it to false
You need to change this on the VM's not the hosts servers so I don't think host profiles are going to help you.
I actually did it in both places so I am not sure which one worked
After testing it I found out that adding it to the host did nothing it only worked cause I added it to my VM
Hi please can you tell me where this option is, im using fusion 4
thanks
See Clipboard Copy and Paste option is disabled in vSphere Client 4.1 for the definitive documentation.
