hi! I'm thinking of seting up vmware 4 in a ibm rack mount svr with 4 nic cards (nfs, mgt, vmotion, data network). For the switch port that's connected to the data network nic, can i configured it as a trunk so that i can do vlan tagging in the vswitch itself? or can i add another nic for the data network for different vlans?

What if i've a segment in my network which are not tied to any vlan and i want to use that segment in my esx4? can i do that? can i do a trunk link to my servers' nic card, and configure a VM's nic to use the network IPs that's not tied to any vlan?

With the 4 NICs card configuration, will i see 4 default NICs in each of the VMs i created within the esx server itself? or i need to add in additional 3 vNIC within the VM itself and manually tie them to the respective vlans one by one?

    thx
