Hi all,
We are pleased to announce the release of VMmark 4.1.
VMmark 4.1 is a minor release and adds the option of generating power efficiency VMmark results. This new mode allows for the collection of power meter-based VMmark runs and generates Server PPKW (Performance Per Kilowatt) and/or Server and Storage PPKW metrics. These can be used to evaluate the energy efficiency of virtualized servers and storage.
VMmark 4.1 benchmark performance scores are considered directly comparable to VMmark 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, and 4.0.3 benchmark scores. VMmark 4.1 benchmark power scores are not comparable to any previous benchmark scores.
Please note:
-
In addition to its new power mode, VMmark 4.1 also includes numerous usability and robustness improvements, as well as native VCF 9.1 support. For details, see the release notes on the VMmark downloads page.
-
This release requires that users redeploy their environments. For details, see the release notes and updated VMmark User's Guide available on the VMmark downloads page.
-
VMmark 4.0.3 End of Life: We encourage users to switch to VMmark 4.1 beginning today, but we will continue to accept VMmark 4.0.3 submissions until August 5, 2026 (90 days after the general availability of VMmark 4.1). A patch to use VMmark 4.0.3 with VCF 9.1 is available under "Drivers & Tools" on the VMmark downloads page.
