  • 1.  VM does not start up

    I have a problem with a VM.

    I have started an export of the VM disk. After about 50% I aborted the download.
    Now unfortunately I can't start, delete or unregister the VM. I am not sure in which log to look. There is no entry in the VM log with today's date.
    Do you have any idea what I can do?

    Is it a problem with only one VM? is lt standalone ESXi or Cluster? What kind of Datastore are you using? Local Datastore or the attached one?

    First, check basic things like Datastore free space, VM snapshots, is there enough CPU/RAM resources.

    In case you have no time to dig deeper and this is not a PROD environment, simply restart your ESXi host, this is a bit harsh of course but still the solution.
