  • 1.  VM cannot ping outside PC

    Folks,

    Could you take at look the below question to give some suggestion? 

    ESXi (NIC) ------------PC

    A new NIC card is plugged into Esxi host. and new VM is created at the host. After setup Portgroup/vSwitch, the PC still cannot ping the VM. vSwitch(please see the below), the VM(C9800-90) and PC cannot ping each other. In vSwitch and Portgroup Security, all are setup as "Accept". 

     

    The configuration process is like this:

    1. create vSwitch "vSW6" and associate with vmnic6,

    2. create portgroup "Portgroup6", associated with vSW6, and 

    3. create a VM and associate Portgroup6 in this VM "C9800-90". 

    Did I miss some step?

    did you set gateway for network ?

    If you think my steps above is correct, that means something is wrong such as PC, or adapter etc， do you think so?

    really it depends on infrastructure , it could be network issue in your physical switch such as VLAN configure and so on.

    Kindly check the VLAN Setting
