  • 1.  VM assignment to physical nic on load balance by virtual port id

For a vSwitch with several physical nics assigned as active and load balancing by virtual port id, is there any way to see which particular physical nic it is using?

To see who is using the physical NIC?

Using this policy means that each virtual NIC is uses a physical one as long as this physical one is available. AFAIK you can't see which virtualö NIC is actually using which physical one. But to have all physical NIC's used you must have more virtual NIC's on that vSwitch than physical ones.

So far, the only way I know of is using the console - run esxtop, and hit "n" (for "network"). You will see the vmnic assigned to each VM under "TEAM-PMNIC".

I would also love to see a simpler solution to this (using VIC, or PowerCLI) :smileyhappy:
