  • 1.  Verifying CPU compatibility

    Hello,

    Our Datacenter has (2) 3 ESXi5 server DRS/HA clusters managed by VCenter5. I would like to combine them into a single cluster. How can I verify that the CPUs in Cluster1 will be compatible with the CPUs in Cluster2? In addition, if there is a compatibility issue how can I determine which EVC option is necessary?

    To check CPU compatibility, you can use CPU Identification Utility. http://www.vmware.com/download/shared_utilities.html

    For PowerEdge Server (DELL)  for example http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/solutions/vmotion_compatibility_matix.pdf
