  • 1.  VCSA 8.0.2.00100 Restore from Backup - Services dont start

    Hi everybody,

    after an update attempt from 8.0.2.00100->8.0.3.00700 and the failed rollback, i am trying to restore from (VAMI) Backup. But Phase 2 Stops at 97% with the message ERROR: Failed to complete reconciliation. Error Failed to start all services.

    If i start all services manually, I receive the following message:

    service-control --start --all
    Operation not cancellable. Please wait for it to finish...
    Performing start operation on service lwsmd...
    Successfully started service lwsmd
    Performing start operation on service vmafdd...
    Successfully started service vmafdd
    Performing start operation on service vmdird...
    Successfully started service vmdird
    Performing start operation on service vmcad...
    Successfully started service vmcad
    Performing start operation on profile: ALL...
    Successfully started service vmware-vmon
    Service-control failed. Error: Failed to start services in profile ALL. RC=1, stderr=Failed to start sps, vpxd, sca, rhttpproxy, vpxd-svcs services. Error: Operation timed out 

    All Certs are valid, DNS-A & PTR are working. lsdoctor wont work because of the stopped rhttpproxy.

    Do you have any idea where I should start?

    Hi snapfriend,

    The problem has now been solved. A duplicate </capture> section in the config.xml file of rhttpproxy was the cause.
