    Hi everyone.

Today I saw this video from VMware - vCenter Embedded Linked Mode - YouTube  - And got myself a doubt. Is it really a best practice? I mean, following the VMware Knowledge Base this topology is listed as deprecated topology. Now I'm bit confused!

    Hi bruno

What is the version of vcenters in your environment? The link that you passed is 6.5, its correct? If correct, for this version is necessary to have a PSC service separate from the vcenter service to configure the Enhanced Linked Mode (ELM). vCenter Server 6.5 Update 2 now supports Enhanced Linked Mode (ELM) when deployed with an Embedded Platform Service Controller (PSC).

The best practice will depend on your scenario. I like working with ELM because you can manage everything on a single console and other features.

That's great! Actually, i'm using 6.0 version and i'm planning to migrate to 6.5 or even 6.7. As I have multi-site infrastructure my plan is to use the ELM too, but I don't want to deploy a dedicated PSC, would be better if I deploy a single instance each site.

    Valeu Diego!
