  • 1.  VCenter authentication via LDAP?

Is it possible to have vcenter authenticate users over ldap rather than from only the local accounts on the Windows Server?  We currently run eDirectory but are migrating to AD in a couple months.  Id appreciate any insight on this.

    vcenter 4.1u1, eDirectory 8.8 on OES2 SP2 (linux)

    Thanks!

yes. When you build your vCenter Server, you will add it to the AD Domain.  From there you create permissions in vCenter, using domain groups. This will allow users to authenticate to vCenter using their domain account.

    This is the preferred setup

Right, but Im not on AD, yet.  I guess Ill just deal with local auth for now....Its not that huge of a deal as I only have a few users in VCenter.
