  • 1.  Using VM Fusion Player with a new Apple MacBook Pro with an M1 Apple Chip.

    Posted Nov 23, 2022 03:48 AM

When I attempted to install windows 10 on my 2021 MBP 16, I get the error:

This virtual machine cannot be powered on because it requires the X86 machine architecture, which is incompatible with this Arm machine architecture host.

I thought this new version was compatible, am I doing something wrong perhaps in installation?

Thanks in advance for any insight

As your post needs moving to the area for Fusion, I have reported it to the moderators.

Regarding your issue, Fusion on a Mac with an Apple processor will only run OSes for ARM-based processors, not x86-based processors, so you'll need an ARM-based version of Windows.
