    Posted Aug 24, 2022 10:48 PM

I am using a VMWARE 6.7 server with a LSI Raid controller. After a harddisk crash, I swapped the harddisk with a new one and did a rebuild. Unfortunately, And now, i can no longer see my datastore. Under Devices i can see:

    Hello.
The server that you are using is of any brand (HPE, Lenovo, Dell and others)
what model and type of disk controller do you have.
Did you install ESXi with a custom image from the server manufacturer or with the standard VMware image.

    Hi there,

if i start my vmserver in rescue mod (debian) i can do "vmfs6-fuse /dev/sda3 /mnt/vmfs" an i see all my VM's. Why can't I do that in VMWARE shell. How can i do that in VMWARE?

    Hello.
If you have access to your VMs Data, the most practical is to copy all your data to a secure location outside the ESXi host.
In most cases where a RAID has failed due to either a rebuild or a power outage, the root cause of these unexplained failures is the very old hardware level of both the controller and the disks or Backplane.
