  • 1.  Unable to add private vlan

    Posted Mar 03, 2013 10:41 PM

I am trying to "convert" an existing DVS port-group to PVLAN. I change the existing portgroup to a different vlan during the change.

Then I go to the private vlan config under the DVS itself and try to add the primary pvlan.

I get the error below. I have tried different vlans, with and without community pvlans etc.

The vlan id value : 701 specified in spec.pvlanConfigSpec has already been added.

    Any idea?

Had same problem in 5.5 U2.

Problem turned out to be that the vlans were already assigned to a port group. Solutions was delete the port groups where the pvlan ID was defined, configure the dVS, re-create port groups, select the correct pvlan number in the port group and it works.
