    Curious to know the type of de-dupe in VDP. Any one aware ?

    Hi,

    VDP uses variable length deduplication.

    VDP admin guide provides some details of it.

    yeah!! you know is it a pre-copy/post-copy ? Also what ratio do you notice in your environment ?

    Sorry i did not get you.. (pre-copy/post-copy) ?

    On the deduplication ratio, i could see VDP offering if much better than VDR.

    The deduplication algorithm used in VDP is powered by Avamar(a proven dedupe technology)

    ok..got it now.

    The deduplication from VDP is at source. Data is dedupe'd first and then copied to target
