I am wanting to test bitlocker but there is a requirement for TPM. Is there any kind of emulator available for VMWARE for this functionality

    Hi proactis,

There is no virtualized/emulated TPM in our virtual platform, and I'm not aware of any way to add one or pass-through a host TPM.

I seem to recall that BitLocker can also store its crypto material on a USB key, although there may be restrictions on whether you can boot from a BitLocker drive in such a manner -- our early-boot USB support is lacking.

    Cheers,

I have used BitLocker with USB, but as of ESX5.0, you can't use a USB for booting.  I also tried storing the boot key on a floppy drive which also didn't work.  I ended up typing in the 48 digit recovery key.

I will try with ESX 5.5 and hardware version 10 as soon as I get a chance.

ESXi 5.5 still provides neither USB boot nor TPM.
