Hello and welcome to the communities.

What role did you assign this user to, and if you created a new role what privileges did you add to it?

Did you also add this permission to the datastore object?

Also - VMware recommends creating new roles and not using the provided samples. It will work and won't cause any problems, but the preferred best practice is to clone the sample role to create a new role.

In the vSphere Client connected to vCetner Server, select Datastores and Datastore Clusters from the Inventory. Then select a datastore in the left pane. Click the Permissions tab in the right pane and add the appropriate permission.
