Hello -
Our team is attempting to wrap up a mass data migration of virtual machine storage from thick disk to thin (thin provisioning on the SAN side, not vSphere software THP). Our last hurdle to clear is about 5 virtual machines which are running Microsoft Clustering, and of course therefore have RDMs in physical compatability mode. The question my team has been unable to satisfactorily answer to this point is as follows - can the RDM pointer file be storage vmotioned to thin disk without MSCS detecting the need to fail over? In order for us to complete this migration, we have to be certain that no downtime will be incurred by the application owner.
Thank you very much for any assistance you can provide -
Steve
