Single Server setup for Holodeck VCF9 4-Node Management Deployment

Hi All, 

I am looking to deploy a single physical server with the latest Holodeck for VMware VCF 9. 

My query is around the networking.

The physical server is a physical Dell R740xd, so i will have 1 x 1Gb cable connected to iDRAC for initial setup of server via OOBM, installing ESXi and deploying Holorouter OVF. Then planning to have just 1 x 1GB network cable connected into my network and this will just be used for me to to connect onto the physical servers network to access VCF Environment. (will setup offline depot for VCF Bundles and download them manually so dont believe any external network access needed for Holodeck)

Is this all thats needed for a single server setup of Holodeck? Believe so as the holorouter manages all internal networking so no need for 10Gb physical connections etc?

As you mentioned correctly, all the internal networking is handled by Holorouter, so 1G network is enough. Your network will be used if you decide to use the online depot to download the binaries from the online depot. If you want, you can even deploy an offline depot and have the binaries pre-populated to avoid internet access.

Thanks for the reply. 

From the Holodeck detail i cannot see the detail about the physical deployment and what to configure. 

So if i am planning to setup the most basic Holodeck 9 4-Node management cluster with offline depot setup on 1 single physical server, are you able to let me know your thoughts on the below:

1. I will connect network cable to servers iDRAC OOBM interface, power server on, install ESXi 9 on the server
2. Any other physical network connections/cables required to this physical server?
   1. maybe 2 x 1Gb network connections into the physical switch so VCF sees these and does not compain about a single network/no network?
3. If the 2 cables above are needed, how are these setup on physical switch, access, trunk, any VLANs need trunking? Or would i only trunk a VLAN that would enable me to get into the virtual VCF setup and be able to access the GUI of VCF operations on the Holodeck VLAN 10 for example?
4. Once the server has ESXi installed, i will then deploy holorouter and after that start powershell to deploy VCF
5. With this single physical server setup, how would you recommend connecting into it? Would you deploy the a windows VM on the same physical ESXi host and use that as the jump box to access VCF components?
