    Hi all,

A question about a simple setup.

Let's say a customer today have a very simple setup with 2xESXi 8.0.3 hosts installed along a vCenter v8 as well.
They have to upgrade those hosts to version 9 - meaning either VVF or VCF. I this case VCF would be overkill, hence going with VVF.

However.... Is this even possible with only 2 ESX(i) hosts? Following guides for the VVF installation via. VCP Installer, it requires vSAN, FC or NFS for a management domain (they only have iSCSI available and only boot disks in the hosts).
But why does such a simple setup require a management domain?

Is it not possible to keep it simple?
