The answer required more  information like are you using any vlan tag for management network and if yes the same tag you are using with vm network?

Also you can create a new port group on the vSwitch0 with the same vlan and assign it to your ubuntu vm.

You may consider to place the host behind a firewall, and gray out the public IP in your screenshot for security reasons.
In order to get VMs online in your current configuration, you'd need another public IP address for the VM.

As per screenshot, you are using two uplink vmnic0 and vmnic1. Are you using both link in port-channel?

If vmnic1 doesn't have uplink then remove it from the vSwitch and check your connectivity after that.

there should be a default "vm network" created with each esxi default vswitch. provided that your vm is assigned the same network pool as the esxi management, you can assign the "vm network" to the vm. This is the closest and easiest thing to traditional bridge network. (technically its not the same though).
