  • 1.  Setting up Cluster in a box?

    Posted Sep 27, 2011 06:03 AM

    Hello to all,

I am in the process of clustering exchange server 2003 using cluster in a box configuration in esxi5.5.As i dont have SAN or External storage i had to choose this type of cluster.I have already created a VM (node1) and installed Windows 2003 ENt and Exchange 2003 Ent on it.Now i need to create a second VM (node2).How should i create this? Should i have to follow the same procedure as like for node 1 or any other alternative way out for this?

And also i havent created quorum disk  or shared storage  yet. When i should i create this disk of what type on which SCSI channel?

If i once created node2,the guest OS that is win 2003 server should be member of Node1? and the exchange server in node2 should come under the same administrative group where my node1 exchange is at present? got confused over this.

    Kindly help me on this.

KB article http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004617 has links to VMware's MSCS documentation. These documents describe the steps you need to follow to successfully setup a Cluster-in-a-box in detail.
