I know that HA is enabled on a cluster with at least two nodes and shared storage, but does every VM residing on that cluster have to be protected by HA or can I be selective which VMs will be "moved" and restarted on another host in the cluster? I was looking through the documentation and assume it is all or nothing, but wanted confirmation as we've never leveraged HA before. Thank you.

We can exclude the selective VMs from vSphere HA.
vSphere HA --> Virtual machine options --> VM restart priority --> disabled
