  • 1.  Script a Report for Performance Provisioning

    Posted Oct 21, 2013 09:25 PM

    Hey all,

I am looking into making a couple of scripts that can report what is provisioned across the entire infrastructure in the terms of RAM and CPU and then perhaps total it against the amount of RAM and CPU phy available with our hosts.

On a second note I am then attempting to find a way to figure avg resources used on VMs and total it against the same phy total.

Please let me know if this is possible and thank you for any assistance,

    Andy

Yes, that is perfectly possible with PowerCLI, there are multiple examples available in this community.

Do you a more specific description of what you are trying to do ?

I am looking for a report to show me how far overprovisioned we are for some planning into the future.  Then also what the average usage is to compare.  Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly what I am looking for is 2 reports, one is showing the VM name, the RAM and CPU provisioned (this is very simple), then a second report showing how much on avg the VM uses.

    Thank you for any support,

    Andy
