  • 1.  Retention policy

    Hi,

    we just implemented DataRecovery, but we just can not understand retention policy, documentation doesn't explain anything.

    What is confusing us is "Number of recent backups to retain", what exactly this number represents?

    If we put 7 it keeps last 7 days backup? If we put 16 it keeps last 16 days (this means it performs backup twice a day ??). What if we put 55 ?

    Older backups are somehow clear, e.g. 4 Weekly backups are last 4 weeks? And 1 Monthly backup means that we have backup only from last month?

    the retention policy is what tells VDR how long you want to keep the data that you back up. if you put 55 it will keeps last 55 days backup  .
