I am vmotioning vm a to a new host. local storage to local storage. 6.5 old host to new host 7.0. During the migration. I get an internal 500 error message when trying to acccess vcenter 7.0. I cant ssh to vcenter and cannot see the progress of the vmotion of the vm. Vm is 3TB. Can you restart the management of vcenter without disrupting the vmotion? This is a big transfer and dont want to start over. Thanks!

Do you have a dedicated vMotion network, or does the traffic use the Management Network?

What I would recommend in this situation, is to login to the two ESXi hosts, and check the network traffic to find out whether it shows high load. If so, vMotion is likely still running, and should not be interrupted.

Thank you Andre! I did that and there was high traffic sending and recieving. I woke up this morning and the vmotion was complete.
