  • 1.  Reg: Doubt - Metering

    Posted Jun 09, 2010 09:09 AM
    Hi,
At present I am using Hyperic HQ Open Source Version 4.2.0.7.
Currently I am monitoring nearly 10 Servers.
All of them are using BOSS Linux(Debian Dervied Linux)
    My Doubts are:
    1. If we click on Resources->OperatingSystem.and then Click File Server Mount link,
we are able to see graphs regarding, Disk Reads/Writes per Minute,Total bytes free etc.
Are the details shown as graph ,represents over all status of the system or
according to the account in which the Agent was installed?
2.Does the open source version of hyperic hq supports viewing disk read/write per minute, total bytes of disk used etc user wise?
3.Does the open source version of hyperic hq supports metering?
4.Are there any open source tools available for metering the cloud?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sri ! !

These are system metrics, not per user.

No, the system plugin does not monitor per user.

I don't believe so, although I'm not sure what you mean by metering. Do you mean restricting usage or integrating with some sort of billing system?

Again, I think the answer is no, but I'm not sure what you mean by metering.

Yes,Like how much of disk read/write is being done by a specific cloud user,
how much of processor % the specific user uses,
applications installed by the specific user,
finding how much of load(ie. how the network traffic ) is given by other users,
to the application , that is installed by cloud user etc

    I need your help...
    Thanks for replying.
