I guess those are software (copy/license) protection dongles. The main concern I would have in the first place is if the software accessing the dongle will recognize the dongle if it's connected via a USB to network adapter. Usually those dongles use some pretty weird low-level hardware access. So the software might not support this kind of network USB server.

I would start aksing the software vendor for a solution or at least what is supported and working.

    Take a look here:USB/IP Project

Or even here: USB Redirector for Linux - USB over IP - USB over Network - Incentives Pro

That's maybe worth a try but not sure if it'll work with your dongles.

Thanks for marking the answers 'helpful', but it would be nice if you provide information about any of the solutions worked for you and which one you tested. Others might be interested in that...

Hello, I worked with a product called Anywhere USB, AnywhereUSB - Digi International for exactly this purpose, licensing dongles. It worked very well. I had 3 dongles plugged in there.

I would check with the application vendor first, but in my experience they didn't know what I was talking about...

You install an application on the server where the dongle needs to connect to, install some drivers, then just map it out to the port where the dongle is connected. It was pretty simple actually and worked very well.

    Hi

Log on to the guest operating system as an administrator or using the root account and see if both the USB device and virtual USB controller is detected. You can use tools such as the Device Manager to determine the status. If the device is visible, confirm that the appropriate software driver is installed for that guest operating system type and that the device name is properly recognized. If a generic device name is listed or the device is listed under Unknown Devices then the device driver is not installed.

My idea is to use the software solution to redirect your USB's. For example, this http://www.flexihub.com/usb-redirector/ has a free subscription and maybe 20-minutes session will be enough for you.
