In most enterprise environments, 16 GB RAM is a reasonable baseline for Windows 11 corporate endpoints, especially when users are running Microsoft 365 apps, Teams, web browsers with multiple tabs, VPN/security agents, and management tools simultaneously.
That said, the right amount really depends on the workload:
8 GB – Suitable only for light office or kiosk-type workloads.
16 GB – Recommended baseline for the majority of knowledge workers.
32 GB or more – Better for developers, engineers, architects, data analysts, and users running local VMs, containers, or memory-intensive applications.
From an IT operations perspective, standardizing on 16 GB also helps improve the end-user experience and reduces performance-related support tickets, while leaving enough headroom for future Windows and application updates.
If you're refreshing hardware today, I'd consider 16 GB the minimum corporate standard, with 32 GB for power users.
