  • 1.  Question Mark Status on IIS Application Discovery via Telegraf Agent

    I installed the Telegraf agent on an IIS server. The aria ver 8.18.7. While it successfully discovered the services and applications, I am seeing a question mark (?) icon next to the discovered applications instead of the expected three status dots as shown in the picture.

    How do we properly configure or troubleshoot application monitoring so metrics display correctly?

    The screenshot appears to match Broadcom KB 378953. The Telegraf agent discovered IIS, but the configuration menu is unavailable because Application Monitoring requires an Aria Operations license.
     
    Full application monitoring requires an Enterprise license. With an Advanced license, the three-dot configuration menu is available only for HTTP and Ping checks.
     
    Also, application discovery alone doesn't enable IIS metric collection. Telegraf collects OS metrics by default, while IIS must be explicitly configured as an application service.
     
    First, confirm the current license edition. If it's Enterprise and the menu is still missing, then the behavior doesn't match the documented licensing limitation and should be raised with Broadcom Support.
